  3. I dunno, Tess. On some level, this photo is kinda creepy. Maybe it's the shoes....

  5. Hi Tess--great photo! My piece was kind of whipped off and could use a bit of refinement--but I have a very crammed with not-such-nice-stuff day so wanted to get something done. And, of course, who could not be stimulated by the photo! It's just lovely. Thanks! K.

  6. Wrote the poem first, then noticed it was Woodward and Newman. What a lovely image. : )

  9. Such a wonderful photograph of an extraordinary love. Woodward and Newman balanced their successful careers and personal tragedies, still able to maintain their love for each other. I, too, have that special love in my life. I fell in love with my current husband when I was 16 and he was 17. After a lifetime of challenges we found each other again and are married to the love of our lives. I truly believe that once the soul is committed, it cannot be redirected. Thanks, Tess, for such a beautiful prompt this week. BTW, it has snowed here in the Pacific Northwest and the view out the front windows is breathtaking. Some snow shoeing is in order.

  13. Hi Tess — I didn't have words of my own for today's prompt, so I borrowed some from the wonderful and beautiful Joanne Woodward, who knew more about it than any of us ever could.

  20. A second draft up on the Patteran Pages, suggested by rather than directly representative of the majestic couple in the classic pic!

  21. I love this picture. Makes me think of the stolen moments with my husband between work and kids and the mundane-ness of life. Thanks. ♥

  22. Well, it could so easily have been a modern fairytale . . . .

  23. Tess--I feel very lame(brained) as I did not realize it was Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, but thought it a more random picture! Agh!

I'm in a bit of a fog these days I'm afraid.

  25. K., I like that you didn't recognize them! The prompt isn't necessarily about them specifically...

    ReplyDelete
  26. I had no idea who they were....but it is a lovely photo...thanks Tess!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Now that I know who they are, it's obvious. At first glance I saw Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck - Roman Holiday.
