  5. A hand out can be better

than a whale watch in low-light
    conditions, the thermals easier

to ride out when the catch can
be perfectly timed to the minute

gravity takes over and the tail
    spreads open, the brake lowered

and pulled on a too-quick landing.
Going down for a crumb looks so easy.

    1. I think you must have been a bird in a former life, to understand those thermals. :)

  8. I recently upgraded my browser to a beta version of Google Crystal (a hybrid of Google Chrome and Google Glass) that will be released widely in 2016. Sometimes it brings up images that are either surprising or disturbing or, in this case, both. I certainly didn't see birds when I came to your site but winged creatures of a very different variety. Since I know so few people have Google Crystal, I did a screen save of what came up on my browser and included in my response to this week's prompt.

  10. Oh no! Wings again! Lol! I wrote a wing poem, short story and more last week! This time I'll go for the birds! Thanks Tess, I really enjoy my Sundays quieting writing a poem for this community. :^)
