Cheers to everyone for making 100 tales possible! Thank you for your enthusiastic support of The Mag, my friends. You are the best. Happy Writing...Happy Tales...
Great image! Sharing an older piece I pulled up called "Adrift." I thought it went well with the imagery! Congrats Tess, on you and your Magpie Tales celebrating "100!"
I don't think you could respond to this one with anything other than a darker piece. But darkness is a part of life and any given day. And how can we define light if there is not darkness to which it can be compared?
Happy 100 - didn't think I was going to make it this week but couldn't resist being part of the century club (so to speak) - mine's here - http://nsaynne.wordpress.com/2012/01/16/found-beneath/
100! I think that's cause to break out a bottle of champagne! :) Thank you Tess! You have truly been an inspiration! I can't believe I came up with something a bit sexy for this piece... ha!
Congratulations on 100 Tess!...So happy to be a part of the celebration. I lift my glass to 100 more!! I love the sculpture. Thank you for all you do to introduce us to such magnificent prompts.
Congratulations on the first 100 that I missed. I want to hang around for the next one hundred. You inspire creativity in others, dear Tess. Magpie Tales is developing such a beautiful patina. xo
Heartiest congrats on a wonderful ton, Tess!! And hope you celebrate many more such... You will never fail to inspire me! I can count on you for that! :)
I was visiting Teri and the photo did not post, but through the link I've been able to see the image. I've got some ideas...for tomorrow - thanks for the inspiration.
Thurs Jan 19, 2012 Daily (From prompt of a stone sculpture of woman under the sea by Jason de Caires Talyor - From the Magpietales prompt 100 Hippity Hop ) By the way Thanks and congratulations on your 100 prompt! (Of course I had to relate this to my current read… Mermaid Wisdom by Brenda Rosen)
Sea Murmurs
I would have, could have, should have cried Real tears for you – but I knew your world was different One who thinks there is so much freedom above the water
I called to you and you came from that vessel That you float upon – seeking adventures to and from The breaths of my four brother winds
I tried to tempt you with a tour of my home But the depths of my heart were just not enough To lure you from the touch of the sun upon your skin
I will of course miss your affections, directions, intentions As real in the moments that they were – you knew my world was different One of myths and legends, submerged treasures
I have though your thoughtful gift – one you will never again see Your seed planted, our daughter conceived While others may see a heart of stone – I see a continued legacy
I called to you and you came from the world of men That which you thrive upon – seeking the stars to guide you That one day perhaps you will set your feet upon
I would have, could have, should have, cried Real tears for you – but your loss will be replaced with joy and I shall Adorn her hair with oyster pearls and fill her full of your dreams…
oops I have been a day ahead all week it really is Wednesday Jan 18th and the prompt is called Hippity Hip!~Jules (I'm not yet good with links so I hope you do not mind that I posted the poem here.)
