Since we don't have winter here, I can only quote a line by another distinguished poet about reason and write a poem out of things past wintertime :) I hope i am still writing accordingly.
Interesting prompt, Tess. I had no idea what to do with it, so I enlarged it and looked at it for a long time while I did other things, until, suddenly, I seemed to see an arrow pointing me in the right direction! LOL -- K

I think there may be something nasty in the woodshed! Although I seemed to link successfully, I can no longer get to see the linky list in order to visit other blogs!
Willow, I know this is a writing prompt, but do you also consider this to be a meme? If so, I will add it to my Memes Page. Please let me know. Thanks!
Tess: Something looks funny on Magpie Tales today, maybe it's because I'm using Firefox to view it? The list of links is all off to the side, nearly illegible. Just thought you should know! :) Happy day to you!
The layout and colors look fine, but the links to the writers and poets (on the right) is covered over by the info and instructions. (I'm using Firefox too, which may be the problem,) ☼
Tess, all the links are coming up behind the instructions (far right) on my screen. Thought it was just you being creative and then slowly saw that it was the links list behind.
I'm in now as well. The redesign looks great on Internet Explorer but is really wacky on Firefox. Using Internet Explorer is sort of like going back to AOL or Word Perfect for me.
I'm having problems too. All the entries are jumbled up with the instructions on the right-hand side. It must be Firefox. I just tried it on Safari and it's OK on that.
Yes, your new template looks great in Internet Explorer and in Chrome. It's terrible in Firefox. Chrome is my browser of choice, except when on sites that don't allow it.
All looked fine when I came here originally, (using Firefox BTW) but when I came back later the jumble bug had struck - overprinting in sidebar, no linky list, and links only working via comments. EEK! I may not be doing much 'visiting' this week, folks - sorry!
I am working on my poem right now - but wanted to echo the others concerns about the overlapping. I also use firefox and do not run the big E as I loathe microsoft. It opens correctly in Safari though, it must be an issue only with firefox.
As others have said, your site is now unreadable and unusable for me in Firefox--sorry I'm unable to appreciate the many fine entries or contribute since I can't even see them or access half the links. A shame.
Thanks for fixing the FF issue, willow. I really did want to celebrate #50 with everyone. Quite an achievement...looking forward to what everyone's done with this one.
do you believe in serendipity... synchronicity? what timing for this image! thanks Willow for the continued inspiration (cool new look too!)... and to all the writers here. I'm enjoying so much what we come up with as a group!!
I'm so ready for spring! It's been awhile, but I've finally posted again. Now I'm going to enjoy a little reading for a change :) Thanks for hosting, Tess!
Another last minute post...but couldn't miss out on Magpie's half century prompt! Still haven' quite finished last week's though :( where do the weeks go??
Off theme again, I'm afraid. But by jumping in now I get to be next door to Tess!
ReplyDeleteAnd you're such a nice neighbor, too.
ReplyDeleteSince we don't have winter here, I can only quote a line by another distinguished poet about reason and write a poem out of things past wintertime :) I hope i am still writing accordingly.
ReplyDeleteThe beauty of the prompts is the wonderfully diverse directions the Magpie writers take us!
ReplyDeleteReminds Me of A snowy walk
ReplyDeleteWow! 50! Big deal!
ReplyDeleteThis one drifts a bit off topic of the prompt, but I think it still came out alright.
ReplyDeleteThe Road to the future is my take on this prompt
ReplyDeletewow-I like the new look here on Magpie-nice font!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kathe, the new year called for an update!
ReplyDeleteI agree it is a very attractive Magpie page.
ReplyDeleteNuts I am not sure how I managed to get on there twice but that was a mistake. Sorry Tess!
ReplyDeleteNumber 12 was last weeks Magpie
ReplyDeleteIt's a nice, new look here. Thanks for the lovely prompt.
ReplyDeleteInteresting prompt, Tess. I had no idea what to do with it, so I enlarged it and looked at it for a long time while I did other things, until, suddenly, I seemed to see an arrow pointing me in the right direction! LOL

Change thwarts habitual thinking.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for an inspirational prompt - as usual.
Enjoyed writing about this....lovely prompt - thank you! xo
ReplyDeleteCami, in just two more weeks Magpie Tales will be one year old!
ReplyDeleteKristen, no problem, I removed your last week's link! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you....bkm
ReplyDeleteanother poem flies from my heart... set free by such a great prompt! Thanks Tess!
ReplyDeleteis this page rendering funny for anyone else? There seems to overlapping sections and I can not see the posts?
ReplyDeleteThanks for another great photo!
ReplyDeleteAnother fascinating spring board for the imagination, Willow - thank you!
ReplyDeleteI think there may be something nasty in the woodshed! Although I seemed to link successfully, I can no longer get to see the linky list in order to visit other blogs!
ReplyDeleteyes Jinksy I am experiencing the same problem...
ReplyDeleteWillow, I know this is a writing prompt, but do you also consider this to be a meme? If so, I will add it to my Memes Page. Please let me know. Thanks!
ReplyDelete(P.S. Great new blog design! It's very easy to read now.)
ReplyDeleteTess: Something looks funny on Magpie Tales today, maybe it's because I'm using Firefox to view it? The list of links is all off to the side, nearly illegible. Just thought you should know! :) Happy day to you!
ReplyDeleteOh, this was a hard one, Willow.
ReplyDeleteLike the new blog changes, too. : )
Uh-oh. Sorry about that, Terresa.
ReplyDeleteHow do the new changes look to the rest of you out there???
The layout and colors look fine, but the links to the writers and poets (on the right) is covered over by the info and instructions. (I'm using Firefox too, which may be the problem,) ☼
ReplyDeleteHi, great photo, I have posted my entry for this week, but I can't really read the other entries, as the links appear to be off my screen.
ReplyDeleteTess, all the links are coming up behind the instructions (far right) on my screen. Thought it was just you being creative and then slowly saw that it was the links list behind.
ReplyDeleteWell, that stinks. I had WT pull it up on his computer and it looked fine. Might I suggest using Google Chrome?
ReplyDeleteAfter a short break from the creative side, it's great to be doing something other than writing about used coffee grounds! Awesome Prompt.
ReplyDeleteUsing Firefox and having the same issues as everyone else BTW.
Actually the links on the far right are working!? Hope you can get it sorted out.
ReplyDeleteCan't get away from the snow this winter..It's even snowing on your blog!!
ReplyDeleteback to the fairy tales.
ReplyDeleteno problems for me, Tess; I like the new look and everything's visible for me. Just like it always is, except nice and new.
ReplyDeleteLove the font.
It's a shorty this week.
ReplyDeleteI'm in, but am having a problem accessing the earlier links for reading - only those in the rightmost column are clickable...
ReplyDeleteI shed a few tears writing this sonnet today.
ReplyDeleteHappy 50th dearest of magpies... and thankyou for your anniversary wishes for the parentals x
ReplyDeleteIt has to be Firefox as I'm having problems as well!
ReplyDeleteI'm in now as well. The redesign looks great on Internet Explorer but is really wacky on Firefox. Using Internet Explorer is sort of like going back to AOL or Word Perfect for me.
ReplyDeleteI'm having problems too. All the entries are jumbled up with the instructions on the right-hand side.
ReplyDeleteIt must be Firefox. I just tried it on Safari and it's OK on that.
All I can suggest is updating by downloading Google Chrome. I did, back when I switched to the new Blogger Templates and it works like a dream.
ReplyDeleteYes, your new template looks great in Internet Explorer and in Chrome. It's terrible in Firefox. Chrome is my browser of choice, except when on sites that don't allow it.
ReplyDeleteLooks fine from here....
ReplyDeleteLink List looks/works fine using Safari browser.
ReplyDeleteAll looked fine when I came here originally, (using Firefox BTW) but when I came back later the jumble bug had struck - overprinting in sidebar, no linky list, and links only working via comments. EEK! I may not be doing much 'visiting' this week, folks - sorry!
ReplyDeleteTess--The new look is a good one. Thanks for the great photo.
ReplyDeletewhat has begun as just in interesting diversion in my weekly blog activities seems to be more of a mania of a life altering sort.
ReplyDeleteMine is a lollygag .... :)
ReplyDeletelinks arent working for me either. i havent posted a poem yet just wanted to chime in about this. i do use firefox. can now try the other one.
ReplyDeletethis came up properly aligned link wise when i used internet explorer to access the site
ReplyDeleteGreat photo! Got me really thinking. I'm having trouble as well with the links on the right hand side. Also using Firefox.
ReplyDeleteI am working on my poem right now - but wanted to echo the others concerns about the overlapping. I also use firefox and do not run the big E as I loathe microsoft. It opens correctly in Safari though, it must be an issue only with firefox.
ReplyDeleteJust a quickie this week!
ReplyDeleteAs others have said, your site is now unreadable and unusable for me in Firefox--sorry I'm unable to appreciate the many fine entries or contribute since I can't even see them or access half the links. A shame.
ReplyDeleteYup - I'm a firefox victim, too! It might take a little while to access other posts.
ReplyDeleteYou've turned up trumps again. Response posted.
ReplyDeleteHello - a bit new here (and late!) but love the site :)
ReplyDeleteI am very happy to report the solving of the Firefox issue!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's working fine now. So glad. I love my Firefox.
ReplyDeleteA Large thanks to Tess for working so hard to resolve the firefox issue. Take a bow, you deserve it.
ReplyDeleteMine's up, new for this prompt as always. Off to read others now that I've finished.
ReplyDeleteI look at this picture, then look at the snow outside... and say to myself, 'what a PERFECT picture'!! :)
ReplyDeleteLoved this one, Tess!!!
As always, thanks for an interesting photo.
ReplyDeleteI had just written this poem and "used" the photo afterwards. It may or may not relate.
ReplyDeleteThat's a provoking picture and sign, Tess.

ReplyDeleteHey Tess, LOVE thenew look and congrats on 50! FYI, all looks perfect here on Safari in mac-land.
ReplyDeleteIt made me think of the walk I'm taking.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteCool looking graphics, TK.
Worthy of a vagabond. ;)
Just found your wonderful site. It's just what the doctor ordered for my case of writer's block. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteOh Tess...this was a difficult one for me...I struggled....and strained...
ReplyDeleteA prompt to have fun with. Thanks, Willow.
ReplyDeleteThe arrow points to the Serengeti!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the new font and colors!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture...athough I was a little confused by the arrow. Do hope you like the poem.
ReplyDeleteWow look at this competition

Which Direction? is finally up. It's been a very busy week with no let up in immediate sight,
ReplyDeleteLove the new page Tess.
i love that photo prompt. it reminds me very much of the dirt road beside my childhood home...
ReplyDeleteGreat photo! I tell ya though----that one hurt to write. I feel wrung out! (It was cathartic though.) Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteInteresting image. Fits with my nasty cold and generally contrarian mood.
ReplyDeleteLove the new layout Tess.....and the wonderful prompt. Hope everyone has an awesome Monday! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm so ready for spring! It's been awhile, but I've finally posted again. Now I'm going to enjoy a little reading for a change :) Thanks for hosting, Tess!
