Couldn't help it, I just have to be contrary.
I've been gardening all day and have only just had time to get to you. Wish our time zones were less contrary, though.
I am still enjoying the challenge.

  47. Holy Magpies, Batman, it is only Monday,
and look at the response list--109 poems,
essays, stories, quips, views, and growing,
ever growing; three of them were mine.
    What intense following your challenges
provide! It simply puts other poetry
challenge workshops into a state of pale.
    Love being a new Magpie!

THANK YOU Willow - this prompt did a great work through me!

  55. Gottenhimmel, magpeers,
Willow has put the brand of 8
into my cortex, and her branding
    iron was hot!
    64, 71, 74, 124, & 125--
    and then there were five,
    like magpie eggs in May,
    a whole hoary nest full.
    Will this prompt stop visiting
    me in my dreams?
    Will the spiritual,
    mathematical, personal,
    and sexual symbols quit
    making me rise earlier than
    I would like, snapping the
    cat-of-eight-tails over
    my head, stinging the air
    with its significance?
    God only knows.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Uh-oh. Sorry, Glenn, did I start something? Cat-of-eight-tales? Well, I guess it could be one worse.

  57. whew - I think I got this one in under the wire. willow?
