Your photos always elicit strong feelings for me, Willow. This one is strong since I do recall the times of the Cold War and its level of fear, even in the Midwest. It seemed like lives were fuller then and experiences more vivid since the threat of war was still with us all. Thank you for such a wonderful photo.
The Jaded Heart beats once again. My computer was kaput for 29 days. I just got it back three days ago. I am so ready to roll up my sleeves and get back to work. :)
Wow this one held a lot of emotional baggage for me! My son was supposed to be born on the 4th of July this year, but my water broke on Feb 18th. I was 20 weeks along...I stayed on bed rest and refused to abort...even with risk to my own life. Isaiah was born on March 8th and lived for 10 days...sadly he passed away on March 18th. Like a firecracker he came into our lives...in a loud and big way and like a firecracker he fizzled out passing away...leaving burn marks in our hearts and souls.
Dear Magpies! Happy Independence Day July 4th (USA) and Happy Canada Day July 1, 2010! Prayers to all those with memories tinged with sadness. To all; many blessings; and to the countless souls ahead of us who gained their wings and spiritual FREEDOM to encompass LOVE. And into this unknown we shall go oneday. Blessings and thoughts to those who serve our countries in amy capacity! This Day Is For You!!! Enjoy Live Life!!!
hello i am so glad to have made this prompt... and what a great foto!!!... really enjoy the spirit of the photos you present with each prompt... fireworks
I am going to a music festival with fireworks tonite...I can't wait to maybe use this experience and the photo prompt as my "muse" for this week's magpie. It should be up tomorrow!
July 4th, 2010...here's to another colorful boom! I haven't written a poem in over a week, and was feeling very disconnected from the writing community - what a beautiful prompt to come back to. Thanks Willow.
As I read some others take on the picture, I guess it was of firecrackers. That I didn't recognize them as such probably says something about my upbringing. Always figured I was deprived somehow... ;-)
Love the idea of working from an image rather than just a selection of words. Really enjoyed looking at the picture and finding a way to express something, anything! Can't wait for the next one
Somehow this image spoke some secret, some mystery! I ran with that idea!
ReplyDeleteI apologize for the length and grammar errors, but sometimes you just have to go on the journey the characters take you.

sorry for any confusion - plus I can't submit my URL to show who I am as keeps saying it included illegal characters?!
