This woman with her head down struck me as someone searching. I was reminded of a friend whom, after learning her husband had cheated on her, took her 1 carat diamond off and threw it at him…only to have it sail out the window of their car. Blinded in a fit of rage… so that's where the image took me this week!
Loved this image and enjoyed writing the poem that was borne from it. Thank you, Tess -- I have been writing lots of poetry lately but not blogging it. Your prompts do more than just offer me a sip of inspiration, they remind me of me - even when I am writing "fictional confessional" poetry. (Is there a name for that, I wonder?) Happy Sunday!
That was very interesting - at first I had no ideas. Thanks again, Tess. Beautiful poem, too. There was one on Typepad I tried and tried to comment on but good not, and same with one on blogger. There has only been one number captcha so far...please turn the captchas off!!
Me too, tess, a thank you for writing "Come on in, the water's fine"--or something like that. Some of us with talents other than poetry, are a bit shy at times to write..well, me, anyway. And encouragement allows us to also enjoy freely what others do with ease. BYW, I went to your Photos page FLIKRS(?) and was astounded to see your re-creating creation in photography. Scintillating pictorial, so much of nature's beauty. Thank you again.
Perfect picture for autumn's arrival.
ReplyDeleteI'm back!
ReplyDeleteGood to see you again Lynette!
