  4. How timely...I'm watching our first "real" snowfall outside the window as we speak....

  5. Hi Willow,
I don't get any snow where I live so did a bit of imagining.
I'm also working slowly through older magpie promts, so if anyone wants to visit and checkout some of the others I have posted they are more than welcome to pop over and leave a comment... I can put the kettle on...
Thanks again for a wonderful prompt..

  6. I woke up this morning to the first gentle snowflakes of the season. A lovely welcome to December.

  7. Hi Willow,
We also do not have snow. It would have been fun. From news reports apparently the snow came early this time. We could just use a lot of imaginations in our postings.

  8. we had our first snow fall last week- so this post was very timely! Cheers and thanks Willow for this stellar photo! Is this just right out your front door?

  9. Thanks, Tess, very appropriate since we are snow-bound here in Ireland at the moment and we dont normally get much snow.

  10. So much snow here I'm snow-blind. Concentrated on the door. Thanks for another invigorating prompt.

  12. i love these magpie prompts! but, i can't just look at a picture and make something up about them...they have to be a true story for me. i find that odd. and it has flurried at my house all morning too for the first time....ah pretty snow.

  13. I tend to be taken away by too many distractions.
Thank you for this reminder, to sit and write still.

    Cheers!

  14. Winter has not arrived yet,
or so some say, but it has
    sent ahead heralds of snowflakes
    to announce its intention.
    I posted my poem before
    I finished the audio mp3.
    Tess has infected we magpies
with the need to hear the
    poetics, to give it voice,
to tease the air with the
    author's own intonations
    and rumble.

  15. I think any credibility I may have had just flew out the window. LOL.

Can't wait to see what others came up with.

  16. I'm attempting to step out in style - or in, come to think of it!

  17. It was really awesome to be prompted. Thanks!
Don't really like the piece that churned out but I'm glad to have been given the impetus to makes some words.

  18. well what a coincidence...and i am actually in early...

  19. The picture just happened to remind me of a very old poem I wrote, so I dusted off the snow and tears and posted it despite its faults. It's a very wintery poem, at least.

  20. We just got done with an early snow and that is what I thought of.

  21. Brrr...can't wait to get in!!

  23. Loving "winter" in North Carolina, but I know all about it as I hail from Northern Illinois and Northern Michigan where 12 inches of snow doesn't faze one! Although 1 inch of snow halts everything here in NC. I LOVE it. Thank you for this challenge!

  24. Willow, i hope my imagination will work. I have sumbitted mine and it is dedicated to you. Thanks for the wonderful photo.

  33. Tess,

Winter images give me exercise, work me beyond my 'comfort zones', but I'm glad for the chance. This one birthed in due time.

  37. Hello guys! I did a short story this time. Its kind of dark, I can't seem to grow out of my fascination with it. I hope you will all give me feedback so I can improve myself. ;-)

  38. The snowy steps bring back memories.

  39. This was a fun wintery magpie! I haven't posted in awhile...really have been ill...two weeks with a three day stint in the hospital, then a bout with kidney stones. Not liking growing older! Now my desk top totally died, beyond salvation - like its owner!!

  40. Although we do not have snow yet,
it was the cold and stones which grabbed me !
and entrances- being allowed back in !
    Happy Magpie- thanks.

  46. A snow post!! I have used your picture to tell my tale because it is just so apt for my piece about an unexpected visitor on my snowy doorstep - Terresa!! :)

  47. Not quite sure if my little poem is quite done, but my brain turned in a funny direction this evening with the prompt.

  48. I didn't think I was going to post this week, but I was reminded of a tiny piece of flash from a year or so ago that is more in fitting with the current weather than with the image.
Thankfully I live in permanent sunshine so don't need to experience the winter any more, but there are many who do, and without the comfort of a warm fire to return home to every night.
But for the fickle winds of fate, though...

  49. My piece is finally written and posted. Funny how nothing comes to one for days and then it's there, in a flash. Whether it's good or not is something else!

  50. nice start to woolly sock time!! Thanks for the inspiration!

  51. Thank you again Willow for the opportunity to stretch myself. Funny how a visual picture can become a magic wand of creativity. This answers my question. I am very visually motivated.

  52. For this week's beautiful image, I sipped some hot cider and remembered a best friend.
