Mag 36

Before I found Magpie Tales on blogger I was so depressed. I needed an outlet. I have always enjoyed story telling, poetry and writing. I started really to write again with the Magpie and I realized one day that I was happy again. I have you and all the other writers to thank for that. Your encouragement really kept me going and now I am hooked. I am reading a lot more and enjoying my life a lot more. Funny how it was exactly what I needed. Not just the writing but the feedback.     Kristen Haskell

Thank you, Kristen. This is what Magpie is all about, my friends. Happy Writing!

  4. Kristen, what tender and lovely sentiment
    and honesty you shared; thanks

A great poetic effort, Miss Willow,
playing chess on a rickety Ferris
    Wheel, while being courted, and
    repressing checkers, cursing or
    kissing Picasso, living your movie
naked and crazy, just before you
unfurl your wings and like a
    Fellini daydream you leap into
the hoosier air, and flutter into
    a scene from WINGED MIGRATION,
    trading your homing embraces
    feom Jacques Perrin & Cluzund
for lip locks with Pablo, and
    face breathing with Fredrico,
    with a hug from Gaugain
a pinch of Path, and three
scenes in the next Tim Burton
    film all mixed richly with
    your boundless parameters--
    and this poem delivers!

  13. I am sorry Willow...I have entered my name twice in Mr Linky's because I added the wrong link the first time & didn't know how to delete it! Sorry!
I say "hear ~ hear!" to Kirsten!! I too love writing here at Magpie Tails. I've always enjoyed writing but somehow forgot that I liked it somewhere in the business of my life. Now I am starting to feel more like me again and I am thoroughly loving this experience. Words are so powerful in their message & I find expressing myself using the written word so therapeutic... It's such a wonderful outlet.
Thank you Willow! You have created the perfect platform for personal expression right here ... and we love it!!

  37. I've managed to do a little something in the end, but won't have the time to do any extensive rounds (again). Sorry, magpie tale weavers!

  38. I felt the darkness this week.
    I too wrote this quickly.
    Been busy ...

  39. I haven't been able to write a new chapter in my book for several months, so I've been posting to a number of photo memes. Perhaps Magpie Tales might help me get started again.
    Thanks for being there, Willow!

  49. The playful Julie says, "Yay! I love that! I want to leap up and look and see what is out there!"

and the grouchy alter-ego spews...moans and groans that don't fit within language.

So that's what I attempted to write to in this week's magpie.

    The Groan.

  57. Dear Willow,

I apologize for editing my sonnet after it was posted...I was in haste to get outside. Upon further review, I tweeked it a bit...more than a bit, actually. Anyway, this "unusual" mode of writing/editing certainly fit the "get out of the rut" theme of the Poetry Bus, so I linked it there, too. Hopefully, most of our fellow Magpie writers were out enjoying the sun, as well! If not, maybe they'll give it a second look...it is better for the editing. Thanks for a wonderful prompt, for creating this space for us, and for being you and being here!

  58. Dr. Linthead, I always end up tweaking my pieces after they're posted. There's just something about putting them in bold blog print that compels rearranging!

  59. I really love the photo prompts and what we all make of them. I sometimes like editing the picture for added challenge and fun.

Kristen, I've been a far happier bunny since finding Magpie Tales, too......!

I'm no writer so doing this is a big leap for me. Although I am English my vocab, grammar and English in general is poor so I am doing something outside my comfort zone.
