Hi everyone, thanks for your continued participation in Magpie Tales. You wrote some incredibly powerful and steamy lippy pieces this week. We had several new participants, as well. Welcome!
Just a few notes of bloggy housekeeping. Please use the Mr. Linky widget provided below to post only pieces directly related to the current Magpie Tales photo prompt.
.
And remember to link to Mr. Linky after you have posted your Magpie. I think you'll agree that little adjustment made it much easier for everyone.
Happy writing, my friends~!
This is a beautiful photo of a watch. I'm surprised that the hands do not appear to be under a glass.
ReplyDeleteI actually wrote this poem during the last few days of my mother's life. I 'camped out' on the floor of her room in Memory Care .... keeping vigil .... never leaving until she was 'no more.' The photo of this really special watch made me think of that poem ~ and that time.
ReplyDeleteI've submitted a Magpie Tale poem! Hope you like it! Time Will Tell
ReplyDeletewillow it's time i wrote something for the magpie!! high time. steven
ReplyDeleteAs the Bravo TV channel says: WATCH -- what happens!
ReplyDeleteDear willow: My number 13 doesn't work. Could you delete that and keep my number 14? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThis is an interesting prompt. It captured my imagination. Thanks.

Oops, I did it again...I posted again on Magpie Tales! :)
ReplyDeletea very nice looking pocket watch -- is it yours Willow? Looks like it has an interesting history to it--
ReplyDeleteJoanny
leapfrogging off joanny's comment, I think it's cool that we all get to add to your pocket watch's history!
ReplyDeleteJust posted a poem I wrote a few months back. I used to have a recurrent dream, time stopped at noon, sun beating down--almost like those t.v. programs on nuclear bombs hitting your hometown, the terrifying light, all of us scrambling to get under our desks and kitchen tables!
ReplyDeleteWonderful watch, lovely photo. I'm up and posted, but I'm not really here these days. My lovely first niece is dying of cancer, stage 4 that started as ovarian cancer, and she is saying her goodbyes. Family and friends have been gathering at her bedside for many days now. My poem in Haiku, was inspired by her and all that we are going through. I am so painfully aware that her time is running out, and watching time fade for someone is very surreal.
ReplyDeleteInteresting prompt. I linked up this week. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYes, Joanny, the watch is mine and does have an interesting story, which I'll try to weave into something poetic before Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteLovely watch, so many thoughts went through my mind. When I finally sat down to write, I found I had almost too much to say, so it looks like a 2-3 parter. Will try to get to the next installment soon.
ReplyDeleteOne additional comment - I find it very difficult to read the stories on black background, no matter the color of the text, so often just have to skip over them. Sorry if I'm missing some great stories or poems, which I probably am.
I'm linked! My poem is about one of my favorite activities - counting!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful watch Willow. Just posted my tale by mistake by after all it is about time and I am ignoring time these days.
ReplyDeleteQMM
Hi there! This is my first time to participate at Magpie Tales. :) I hope I did mine right. The picture was just so interesting that I just had to write a vignette!

once more unto the breach...i am up.
ReplyDeleteI was not inspired this week. No fault of yours, Willow. So my submission is sort of weak.
ReplyDeleteahhhh so many, this is good and bad, I really will not have time to read all of these -- there's that time theme, tick tock, tick tock....I almost didn't make it to post this week either. Outside calls with many chores

willow--my post is up. Your prompts makes me talk to myself for days---;-)
ReplyDeletedoes anyone actually visit the other posts?
ReplyDeleteI'm in!
ReplyDeleteAnd Brian - I do! I visit as many as I can. I had lots of time constraints last week and had to take a break, but I'm back! I'll be visiting as many as I can today and tomorrow. Some of you have become favourites!
How apropos that this prompt came up this week. As I write this, my mom is in the hospital with a DNR band on her wrist. She may complete her circle of life today, or it may be a few days. We're all just waiting...
ReplyDeleteHey, guys, Brian's right!
ReplyDeleteMingle a little! It's a party!
I wrote about a phone call I had with an old High School friend. Wrote it quick .. could have refined it a bit but I went with it. I'm trying to write each week even if I'm busy. Thanks for the kind remarks ...
