Up a lazy river by the old mill run The lazy, lazy river in the noon day sun Linger in the shade of a kind old tree Throw away your troubles Dream a dream with me-ee
Rivers are good. In Arizona we don't have too many and they would only qualify as creeks or streams to an Easterner but to us they are as magnificent as any Mississippi.
Stunning photo of the Irwell. I gather that it's not a very long river and it ends at the Mersey..."So ferry..'cross the Mersey..to this land..." Thanks. Have a good Sunday everyone! Laurel
The Mersey is Liverpool...The Ship Canal and the Irwell are Manchester...I passed it today. It was Lowry's river and in his day it knew awful poverty yet amazing community. Of such is life.
The river reminds me of the Connecticut River here in New England, normally wide, peaceful and serene. I wrote of a time last year when it was a little less peaceful.
I saw this picture and this sad story came out. A big surprise because it's a beautiful picture. Thank you for your hard work, Tess. It's been a while for me.
Happy writing, my friends!
ReplyDeletechallenging!... good picture tho...

ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful picture. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI use to have a recurring dream of floating in a canoe down a river with trees passing overhead. I even remembered the dress I wore. Past life?
ReplyDeleteI have taken that moment and expanded on it here. Hope it makes the grade.
Thanks for the fun challenges.

Thank you Tess. This is such an inspiring river picture. =D
ReplyDeleteThis certainly brought back memories... I had forgotten! :)
ReplyDeleteA lovely river! One for sailing and reflecting! This is my first post for your Mag! Thanks, Karen
ReplyDeleteI felt inspired with this prompt but also replaced your great borrowed image with a river of my own
ReplyDeleteThe prompt reminded me trips on the river in hired rowing boats. Dangling your hand in the water and touching overhanging branches.
ReplyDeletewow, I'm surprised where this one took me... will be back later for reading. hardly managing these days. :-)
ReplyDeleteSerendipity is at work again. I hope it is well-received.

ReplyDeleteNice prompt. Leaves open a vast menu of possible lines. Thanks for.
ReplyDeleteit's a great experience reading the different ways people look at something. insightful takes.
ReplyDeleteAs Dave says, a vast menu of possible lines. In my case, a screenplay... well, only six minutes of it... but there is a river running through it...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scenery....love this Tess! :-)
