Happy Writing and a very Happy and Healthy 2012 my friends!
How to capture an icon?
Anyone remember where you were when her death was announced? Gee, how old am I, really??!!
I do remember when she died- my mother and I were pulling up to the grocery store and as my mom parked the car we both saw the headlines on the newspaper stand- so very long ago. Now it would have been blasted from all the communication forms we have-
Though this image should have elicited something more jolly from me, I could only feel pain.
The first thought that came to me when I saw this image, is how hard it seems for her to look happy. A really posed shot, but, just my opinion.Happy New Year, all!
I'm very bad at writing Magpies when I recognize the image...... ;)Happy New Year to everyone and my most gracious thanks for allowing me to be a part of your Magpie writing world!*hugs*MimiCollage Pirate

The kind of stuff that happened to Marilyn when she was a kid was not uncommon then, nor is it uncommon now.
Just though.....Reading all the raw (and beautiful!) posts today I wonder how the posts would have gone if that were an unknown woman....?Words influenced.:)
