Okay, Just so you know, when I first saw it, I thought no way, no how, I can't do it. And I lie to you not, the longer I spent saying I won't do it this week, the more my little wheels starting to chug and then BAM! A single line popped into my little head. I had a bit of fun with this one and got to be a bit saucy!
Tis fitting Willow that we would have a horribly scary eyeball to write about for the 13th magpie. Very appropriate considering. What? Horror genre anyone? Feeling a "Poe-sayic" Ode to An Eyeball coming up (not like that) ewwww....
Yes, I thought the eyeball fit quite nicely with the 13th Maggie! I'm going to have to think about this one, though. I really don't choose the photo prompt with something in mind, like you might think!
This picture reminded me of much horrible writing I have heard in writer's groups, where writers say something that is so badly phrased that it makes a picture pop in to my head that is there for weeks. So many people have eyes with legs.....
I won't lie - I found the prompt to be SCARY (I should have written a story about The Golden Eyeball - a horror tale from my childhood). Instead I wrote a fluffy piece to make the eye less threatening :)
this one was actually fun because it brought back memories of my great grandma and the pranks she would play with her glass eye. My story is loosely based on her.
nice. just finished the tour...great job everyone...if i missed you let me know...a good mix of funny, tender and scary of course. thanks for another great week willow!

ReplyDeleteAh... a perfect prompt for sharing a little something about how I got to be so warped! Love it!
ReplyDeleteLike Lisa, I was not that confident, but those cogs started whirling and all of a sudden there it was.

ReplyDeleteHello writers! I'm new to Magpie Tales, but this looks like a great site. I look forward to reading other posts inspired by this week's prompt.
ReplyDeleteThis was a tough one, but my post is up. And now to make the rounds ...
